Unglorious weeding in the ALA

When you are on the Concordia Tree Team, there’s a constant chatter about work to be done. Sunday at 8am to beat the heat? Four people raised their hands and brought their hand shovels and hoes to weed a few trees in need.

Some of the trees that got a bump this morning:

  • willow oak (Quercus phellos) near NE 7th

  • blue oak (Quercus douglasii) same block near NE 7th

  • Julian hackberry (Celtis julianae) easternmost tree on NE 6th block
