Who needs the gym? Join the Watering Club

Jug watering on the Ainsworth Linear Arboretum medians.

Why lift weights at the gym when you can haul a sequence of five to seven gallon jugs of water to a tree? This Watering Club is a no-cost exercise option, open any time of day, very flexible hours for the working person.

Morning? Evening? The trees love to be watered at those times!

The Concordia Tree Team is fortunate to have sixteen neighborhood tree watering stewards. These stewards agreed to take a few trees and water 10-15 gallons every week or two weeks. These trees are either in the Concordia Learning Landscapes Arboretum or the Ainsworth Linear Arboretum medians.

In addition we run a weekly “bucket brigade” to care for mature transplanted trees in the International Grove.

This is an incredible distributed effort, and we are so grateful for everyone’s efforts.

Robert and Mallory run hoses and buckets to Atlas cedars recently relocated in the International Grove.
