Summer is here: get ready to water!
Are you willing to take a Tree Team 5 gallon jug and water a tree once every week or two?
Do you live next to the Arboretum and have a spigot that you can lend to the cause?
Then please get in touch with us!
What is needed?
The Concordia Tree Team works hard to keep younger trees alive through the long and hot summers. Due to the light rain this spring, we are looking for more contributors to help with watering specific trees at both the Ainsworth Linear Arboretum and the Concordia Learning Landscapes Arboretum.
I’m interested! What would I have to do?
It’s a simple system: you agree to water a specific tree or two, listed on a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet tells you how often to water. If you need a water jug, the Tree Team will lend one to you. You will place 5-10 gallons of water on the tree weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on the need. And you will log your watering in the spreadsheet. That’s it!
Count me in. How do I sign up?
Just reach out to us via email or through the webform, and we will get right back to you.
When does this whole thing start?
The watering needs are starting this week (June 8). Best times to water are evening or morning.
What will I accomplish?
Many neighbors contribute, and neighbors often notice and offer their thanks. And the work of helping the tree only takes a moment.
Plus, watering neighbors can earn a Tree Team t-shirt! Just ask.
